How to become an OHSAA official (High School and Junior High):

Registration for the 2025-26 season is now CLOSED on DragonFly.

Reminders:

If you did not view/attend a state rules meeting, you did not meet the requirement to stay an active official and have been set to go inactive once registration opens. You will be required to take a reactivation course and exam through RefReps in order to activate your license once more. (See section X.2.B of the Officials Handbook for reference. It can be found at https://ohsaaweb.blob.core.windows.net/files/Officiating/OHSAAOfficialsHandbook.pdf).

Fees - $70 for a new sport, $60 for a base renewal and reactivation, $30 for a 2nd sport renewal.

Concussion Renewal: Carried over from the 2024-25 athletic year. If your concussion certificate had expired, you will need to take the course again through the NFHS.

To import your certificate from the NFHS, please:

·       Enter your email

·       It will automatically upload your concussion in sports certificate.

OHSAA Handbook For Officials: You will be directed to a new page in order to view the OHSAA Handbook. Viewing the handbook is required before you are able to sign your name and continue with the renewal process.

OHSAA Officiating Questions: You will need to fill out a brief form of questions that the OHSAA is collecting.

Reactivation Course (if applicable): If you have a reactivation course loaded in your registration, you did not meet all of the requirements to remain an active official in the 24-25 season. You will be required to pass the course and exam before obtaining an active status again.

The remainder of the registration fees are split between PAVO and the NCAA. A breakdown of the fees is available at https://pavo.org/Membership/Types-of-Membership.

CLINICS:

There are three clinic dates for line judging and scoring via Zoom. More be added, depending on demand. On-court evaluation opportunities may be available. The fee is per date, meaning you can do both the line judge and scoring clinic on the same date and only pay once.
