The OHSAA and the NOVA Group will be hosting an Advanced Officiating /Line Judging Clinic for all Volleyball Officials on July 24th and 25th. This camp is being held at Baldwin Wallace, 275 Eastland Rd, Berea, OH 44017. This will be an all-day session with lunch provided. The cost is $25 for officials.

On Saturday, July 25th, I will be running a line judging clinic with classroom and on-court work available as well.

Purpose: To give officials and line judges the opportunity to be instructed by highly successful officials in both on-court and classroom settings. This includes one-on-one on-court instruction regarding Processes/ Protocols, Mechanics, Techniques, Rules and Rule Interpretation.   

Goal: This is a very high-level Clinic (on-court teams are all State caliber from Ohio) and is meant to improve the skills and abilities of newer and experienced volleyball officials and line judges using the most current mechanics and techniques. If you have ever wanted to try high level and never had the opportunity, this is a great way to gauge your talents against the top officials. Clinic will allow for observation from on-court work and obtain feedback.
It will also allow a classroom question and answer session.  

Location: Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, OH

Dates: July 24th officials must be there by 9am

Dates: July 25th officials must be there by 8am, line judges 7:45am

Food /snacks/water all day provided

Instructors: Current OHSAA officials, Officials with tournament experience, and USAV Jr. Nationals and National level officials. 

Local Meeting credits will be offered and you can obtain your signatures for Class 2 to Class 1.

August 11, Copley HS, 5:00 - 8:00 (line judges and referees)

The OHSAA and the Greater Akron Volleyball Officials Association (GAVOA) will be hosting several Volleyball Officials Clinics at local Northeast Ohio High Schools.

All Officials, both Line Judges and  Referees are invited to attend.  You will have the opportunity to work and be trained as an R1, R2 and a Line Judge and encouraged to register for each, to experience the full volleyball officiating world. Each Date attended will be recorded for a Meeting credit as well. 

Emphasis will be on Mechanics, Procedures/Rules Knowledge and Court Awareness.    Participants are asked to attend wearing the official OHSAA uniform and arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.                                              Please register on the hour by date and prefered time(s)

Additional Education Opportunities for PAVO Classroom Credits.  Again both Referees and Line Judges are encouraged to attend.  GAVO members will be free this season and non members are $10 at the door.

Tallmadge High School, 6:30 - 8:00 - no pre registration needed and a meeting credit will be applied.

8/11/26, 5 PM @ Norton HS in Norton, OH

The OHSAA and METRO Conference will be hosting a Volleyball Referee Clinic at 5PM AUGUST 11th at NORTON High School at 1 PANTHER WY NORTON, Ohio 44203.   

All new referees and referees with up to 3 years' experience along with individuals wanting to be Line Judges will be the focus of the clinic; however all officials are invited to attend.

You will have the opportunity to work and be trained as both an R1 and R2 as well as a Line Judge.

Emphasis on Mechanics, Procedures Rules Knowledge and Court Awareness.  Instruction will be led by VETERAN OHSAA VOLLEYBALL OFFICIALS.  Participants are asked to attend wearing the official OHSAA uniform with the color of shirt up to each individual.  Black shorts or pants, white shoes and socks are recommended.  Please remember your whistle! Registration starts as early as 4:15pm.
